Mentorship & Professional Development
Utah Law Student Mentoring Program (ULSM):
This statewide program connects law students with practicing attorneys and judges, providing one-on-one mentorship and insight into the legal profession. Students receive guidance on career paths, professional expectations, and navigating law school, while building long-term relationships within Utah’s legal community. In addition to ongoing mentorship, the ULSM program facilitates two annual in-person networking and professional development events that bring together students, attorneys, and judges to strengthen connections and support career growth. The program places a strong emphasis on expanding access and supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds. Read more and apply here.
Fellowships & Scholarships
Bar Review Scholarship:
This Scholarship is administered in partnership with the Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar and supports graduating law students preparing for the Utah Bar Exam. Awards typically range from $500 to $2,000 and help offset costs related to Bar preparation and testing. Read more and apply here.
Justice Christine M. Durham Fellowship:
This Fellowship provides financial support of up to $1,500 annually to one student from each of Utah’s law schools. In addition to receiving financial assistance, Fellows have the opportunity to engage with UCLI leadership and contribute to law student programming and initiatives. Read more and apply here.
Utah Legal Inclusion Fellowship:
This competitive Fellowship offers a 10-week paid summer experience with Kirton McConkie, including opportunities to work with in-house counsel at Intermountain Health. The program is designed to help students build practical legal skills, explore career pathways, and gain meaningful professional experience. Read more and apply here.
Partner Initiatives
All Rise Utah:
This collaborative initiative, led by the Utah State Courts Office of Fairness and Accountability and partner organizations, aims to build a pathway for future judges in Utah. The program helps law students and attorneys envision themselves in judicial roles while providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and guidance on the judicial application process.
