LaShel Shaw is the Secretary for the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion. Ms. Shaw works in the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office as a civil litigator, where she represents the county in a wide variety of legal disputes. Prior to joining the District Attorney’s Office, LaShel was a shareholder at Parr Brown Gee & Loveless, specializing in intellectual property litigation and entertainment and media law. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame School of Law in 2011, after defending a master’s thesis on medieval Viking religion and working as a newspaper reporter for the Mt. Pleasant Pyramid.
In addition to her involvement with UCLI, LaShel is the Law Developments Editor for the Utah Bar Journal and the Co-Chair of the Utah Bar Review, as well as an active member of Women Lawyers of Utah, the Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar, and the LGBT and Allied Lawyers of Utah. She is also a member of the 2017 Class of the Utah Bar Leadership Academy and the Women’s Leadership Institute Class of 2019.
