Assistant Attorney General – State Agency Counsel

The State Agency Counsel Division of the Utah Attorney General’s Office has an immediate opening for an attorney with approximately five to ten years of experience to assist in representing the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and Commission and the Utah Department of Corrections. Work may also include representation for the Utah Office for Victims of Crime.  

This position will be responsible for assisting these agencies in a number of ways, including acting as counsel in administrative and court proceedings, providing contract and policy review, preparation of legal opinions, monitoring of litigation, and interfacing with the clients on a regular basis.  

Applicants must possess excellent written and oral advocacy skills.   Experience with agency representation is preferred.  Membership in the Utah State Bar in good standing is required. The position is located in Salt Lake City.
