Briggs Matheson is a commercial litigator at Parr Brown with a broad range of experience with representing companies, individuals, and government entities in high-stakes civil and criminal proceedings involving fraud, breach of contract, intellectual property, securities, and complex corporate disputes. Mr. Matheson maintains an active pro bono practice that focuses on cases related to civil rights. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford Law School and his Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University with distinction.
From 2012-2013, Mr. Matheson clerked with Judge Marsha S. Berzon for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He was admitted by the State Bar of California and Utah State Bar. Before his time with Parr Brown, Mr. Matheson served as a federal prosecutor in the Northern District of California, where he prosecuted a variety of criminal cases in the District Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also served as a Deputy City Attorney for San Francisco as a member of the City Attorney’s Office Trial Team.
